The River Patrol Team

With regard to river protection, CSC has fulfilled its corporate social responsibility by dedicating efforts to the protection of the local river environment and water resources. CSC established a Water Environment Patrol Team in 2005, the first corporate water environment patrol team in Taiwan that had protected Kaohsiung Yanshui River for 19 years as of 2024. CSC's Water Environment Patrol Team has a total of 45 members, most of whom are employees in CSC's Environmental Protection Department, Transportation Department, and Utilities Department. The team conducts regular daily inspections of the water surface of the river and the dock area each day. It also irregularly observes the water quality and cleans the environment. The cumulative number of work trips exceeded 1,500 persons/times in 2024, and over 23,000 kg of trash had been removed.
CSC provides annual funding and resources to maintain operations of the Water Environment Patrol Team. Besides providing supplies, such as oil absorbent pads, rope-like oil absorbents, and oil booms, CSC also established an environmental monitoring system along Yanshui River.
With high-resolution cameras, patrol members can get a handle on the environmental conditions of Yanshui River and the dock area so as to facilitate the immediate removal of trash or oil pollution on the surface of the river and ensure the cleanliness of the water environment. CSC's patrol team has spared no effort in the protection of the local river ecological environment, and has been granted awards in the evaluation of water environment patrol teams by the KSEPB over the years. The Contribution Award in the Corporate Division was granted to CSC in 2024.
