| Basic concept of water footprint |
The product water footprint refers to the amount of fresh water consumed per unit product. It’s a simple quantitative formula as follows:

| The process of water footprint implementation in CSC: |
On behalf of the company the Utilities Department was passed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs Industrial Development Bureau for 2011 of water footprint inventory and verification of operations. We have selected the First Hot Rolling Mill products as an illustrative case. In the future when the First Hot Rolling Mill products’ footprint verification is finished it will be extended to other products to promote more efficient management of water resources for the company in the future. The water footprint inventory and verified operation is scheduled to be completed by December 2011.

#1 Hot-Rolled Mill Products
The annual production of #1hot rolled coil products is 3.41 million tones.
The main exporter is China, Japan, Malaysia.
The first layer of raw materials supplier is #1 BOF Slab CC Plant: 51 tons per year, and
#2 BOF Slab CC Plant: 290 tons per year. |
