  • Risk Assessment

    The Risk Management Team under the Corporate Governance and Sustainability Committee of the Company's Board of Directors regularly assesses various operational risks every year. The political, economic, and social risks that may cause conflicts from specific stakeholders (employees, community residents, environmental protection groups or organizations) are assessed separately by the Human Resources Department, Public Affairs Department, and Environmental Protection Department.

  • Interactions with public security

    The Public Affairs Department and the General Affairs Department of our company irregularly visit the local police office to exchange views on significant security issues that related to political, economic, and social events. Additionally, they assist the police in disseminating information about fraud prevention and The Wan-An defense drills.

  • Interactions with private security

    The access control and security of CSC's factory is assigned to China Steel Security (CSS) Corporation, with 138 security members (105 security guards and 33 firefighters) deployed at CSC.
    According to Article 10-2 of the Private Security Service Act “When a security company hires security guards, it shall offer them pre-service professional training of one week or above. For current security guards, it shall provide them with in-service training of at least four hours every month.” CSS not only manages education and training according to law, but also offers legal knowledge, skills required on duty, human rights advocacy, etiquette, etc., the total training hours for all employees reach 600 hours per month. Furthermore, regular emergency response drills are conducted annually at various sentries and administrative buildings to maintain access control security.

  • Monitoring of security providers

    Since 2022, CSC had signed the “Supplier Code of Conduct” with CSS to ensure that the security service supplier could adhere to ethical standards, comply with legal requirements, respect human rights, prioritize employee’s health and safety, fulfill environmental protection responsibilities, and implement appropriate management systems while performing contractual duties.   • Grievance Mechanisms

  • Audit and Assessment

    It is planned to have a 3-year-cycle oversight program. In the first 2 years, the contracted security services company will be asked to fill out a self-assessment questionnaire. In the third year, a spot check will be conducted to verify whether the contracted security services company has effectively implemented the ‘Supplier Code of Conduct’.
