EDR (Electro Dialysis Reversal) is composed with multi-layers of anion exchange membranes and cation-exchange membranes. Between the electrodes there are numbers of independent tank chambers. By using the electrical voltage, we can drive anions to the positive electrode and cations to the negative electrode to separate the fresh water and the enriched water. CSC has installed an EDR system to reclaim wastewater.
Reclamation of blow-down in cooling water system
Besides EDR system, CSC has also installed another comprehensive wastewater reclamation system composed with ultra-filtration, reverse osmosis and ion-exchanger as shown in the picture below. The quality of the reclaimed water can be as good as pure water and be used by power plants.
