Green Steel Products

CSC's green steel products refer to finished products capable of saving external energy consumption and reducing carbon emissions

high-strength or high performance steel

automobiles
boats
buildings
electric vehicles

steel with fewer reprocessing procedures

non-lead patenting steel
non-quenched and tempered steel
annealing-free wires

steel with longer service life

steel with high-temperature resistance
anti-corrosion
wear resistance
plating steel

As an upstream manufacturer of the steel industry, CSC plays an important role in developing green steel products and expanding the green supply chain. Aligning with international goals, CSC's image can be enhanced by contributing to external carbon reduction, highlighting its commitment to energy-saving and carbon reduction, and fulfilling its corporate social responsibility. In 2022, 3.2676 million tons of green steel products were sold to help reduce external carbon emissions, which summed up to an estimated 6.0664 million tons.

The Green Revenues of the CSC Group in 2022

Green Steel Products As percentages of the revenues
High-strength or high performance steel Steel for wind power. <0.01%
Steel for electric vehicles or scooters, including electrical sheets for electric vehicle motors or other key materials 0.98%
Other usages, such as motor vehicles, boats, and building structures 4.22%
Steels with fewer reprocessing procedures non-lead patenting steel, non-quenched and tempered steel, and annealing-free wires 2.99%
Steel with longer service life Steel with longer service life also has high recycled materials:Galvanized steel products with the SGCC RC12, SGCC RC20, and EG SECD RC12 certification. 0.04%
Other steel with longer service life, such as steel with high-temperature endurance, anti-corrosion, and wear resistance, and plating steel. 8.24%
Subtotal 16.47%

The calculation of the coefficient (the average life-cycle carbon reduction coefficient per ton of steel) for external carbon reduction performance was based on the Japanese Steel Alliance and Economic Institute, ITRI, and the CSC Green Energy & System Integration Research & Development Department. The coefficients adopted by CSC included high-strength steel for ships, steel requiring no further quenching and tempering, others, etc. The carbon reduction benefit was calculated as the sum of the order amount of 2022 for each item multiplied by the corresponding coefficient.
