On March 29, 2024, the Environmental Protection Bureau conducted an inspection at the Company and identified non-compliance with the Air Pollution Control Act, including improper enclosure of material handling (fine coke) and inconsistencies between actual recycled material flow and the approved permit description. -
In 2025, the Company experienced 3 environmental violation fine cases, 1 of which exceeded USD 10,000 in fine amount:
On September 21, 2025, a fire occurred during construction work on a standby exhaust fan at the Company's coal chemical plant. The fire damaged the main exhaust control system, resulting in a shutdown of the system. Consequently, process gas from the coke oven could not be properly collected and treated, leading to fugitive emissions outside the facility. The gas was subsequently sent to an emergency flare system; however, incomplete combustion resulted in particulate matter emissions.
