Manufacture technology of SCR plate-type catalysts

A process technology to manufacture the plate-type catalysts was developed in 2007 by CSC and the catalysts applied in the sinter plants possess dual-function character to remove NOx or dioxins from the flue gas. In this respect, the SCR catalysts applied in coal-fired boiler plants prossess single function character to remove NOx only. The major components are V2O5/WO3/TiO2. Its optimum working temperature lies between 250℃and 400℃, within which the reduction rates for both dioxins and NOx go well beyond 80%. The catalytic activity of CSC catalyst is comparable with the commercial catalyst.

The major units involved in the process include kneading, press rolling, cutting, molding, drying and sintering. The plate-type catalysts are suitable to adopt in the treatment of the flue gas containing high amounts of fly ash in sinter plants. It avoids the pressure drop occurred in the reaction chambers. It is a plate type catalyst which possesses a higher resistance to ash corrosion and lowers clogging possibility and pressure drop.

The plate-type catalyst manufactured by CSC has resolved the pressure drop problem caused by the accumulation of the fly ashes between the modules in the SCR process of the sinter plant. It should be noted that the size of the plate-type catalysts have been enlarged from the regular 55×46cm to 110×46cm in order to eliminate the blockage of the fly ashes. The pressure drop of each catalyst layer is being kept at <25mm H2O and less than the required 30mmH2O.
