In December 2000, China Steel Corporation of Taiwan (CSC) had acquired its first offshore steel company, namely CSC Steel Sdn. Bhd. (CSC Steel). In January 2004, CSC Steel Holdings Berhad (CHB) was incorporated and had acquired CSC Steel as its wholly-owned subsidiary in the same year. Subsequently, CHB was successfully listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia in December 2004.

At the helm of its parent company, CSC, the competitiveness of CSC Steel in both domestic and international markets had been strengthened with the capital injection for upgrading equipment and expanding production lines as well as technical support to enhance its overall performance. Over the years, the domestic market has been the key market for CSC Steel, with a well-diversified customer base across Malaysia. Nonetheless, CSC Steel is very keen to explore the opportunities to export its steel products to certain countries as to further expand market presence internationally.

In addition, the Group is committed to increasing the values for the shareholders and the community and reducing the impact to the environment so as to achieve its sustainability commitment.

The main products of CSC Steel include pickled and oiled steel coils (PO), cold rolled steel coils (CR), galvanized steel coils (GI) and Pre-painted Metal Products. CSC Steel is actively shaping its brands, namely realzinc and realcolor, to expand its market share in the building material industry. The Group is keen on developing new coated steel products by cooperating with related chemical suppliers closely.

CSC Steel will continuously upgrade its products to serve as an extension of the CSC Group's production lines, enhance cooperation with downstream customers, and extend the market reach of its products.

Measures such as cost reduction, continuous promotion of environmental protection, energy saving, and reduction of carbon emissions have been taken to minimize the impact on the environment. Moreover, CSC Steel is also dedicated to fulfilling its corporate social responsibility.
