According to the assessment results, the projects with high or higher risks were major occupational disasters. Personnel from the relevant departments is responsible for drawing up and implementing subsequent risk management strategies and related execution plans.

As the application of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has increased day by day, stakeholders' concerns have extended from climate anomalies to biodiversity loss, and the increase in construction material and labor costs led to rising construction costs, three additional risk assessment items have been added.

As risks derived from the rapid changes in the global economy, society, and environment are diverse and complex, the Risk Management Team has collected relevant emerging risk information from internal and external sources and identified eight emerging risk issues. The managerial level selected the top three emerging risks that the company should prioritize are "the discrepancies in carbon border tax levies discrepancy leading to customers turning to imported steel products", "demand slowdown or disappears due to geopolitics", and "customer demand is shifting towards low-carbon products" . The relevant risk mitigation/response measures have been developed by the relevant departments.

To construct the risk management culture and enhance risk management awareness, the Company's Risk Appetite Statement was formulated by considering benchmark enterprise examples and following internal regulations.

Task Force on Energy Saving & Carbon Reduction and Carbon Neutrality

Continue to operate the "Carbon Management Advisory Corps", which guided 20 customers in 2024, and collaborate with customers to achieve the low-carbon transformation of the industry chain.

Strengthen GHG target management, promoted the two management targets of "total GHG emissions target" and "carbon emission intensity target" in 2024, and conduct regular monitoring and review to effectively enhance the company's internal carbon management mechanism.

Established reward rules for GHG reduction to actively encourage all employees to engage in carbon reduction efforts.

Promote AI-related training and digital transformation lectures, and offer digital transformation courses to boost employee digital empowerment training coverage.

Completed the smart production lines, smart energy resources, and smart scheduling solutions planned for 2024, reducing cost by around 128 million TWD per year.

The "Smart Temperature Control System for Reheating Furnaces" project won the "First Prize for Smart Manufacturing Upgrade Transformation" and "ESG Special Award" of the 2024 Ding-Ge Digital Transformation Award, which saves around 154 million TWD in fuel costs and 31 thousand tons of carbon emissions annually.
