Development of high-grade hard magnet ferrite

Until now, motor power consumption in developed countries accounted for more than 50% of the entire country consumption. In the era of rising awareness of energy saving, the importance ]of energy-saving for motors is getting more and more attention gradually. Brushless DC (BLDC) motor rotor is composed of hard magnets; thus, its output efficiency can be greatly increased compared that of conventional induction motor rotor.

CSC has been actively involved in the development of hard magnetic ferrite [( ], which is with an eye on its better quality-price ratio than NdFeB. Besides, the price of rare earth raw materials is soaring these days, CSC has the advantage of materials. In the first, we focus on research of the Grade-6 hard magnet ferrite (Maximum Energy Product, (BH)max=4.2MGOe) which are widely used in air-conditioned indoor、outdoor unit fan motor and compressor motor. Grade-6 hard magnet ferrite is presently the most widely used of the ferrite magnets, has the significance of technical indicator. If it can be successfully developed would provide China Steel Corporation a key to hard magnet ferrite markets. In the near future, China Steel Corporation will further develop higher energy product (>4.9MGOe) such as Grade-9 hard magnet ferrite as well as that beyond Grade-12.
