The 2018 Steel Journey Activity Held for Six Graders in Siaogang by CSC

To enable graduating elementary school students to preliminarily know what a wholly-integrated steel mill is and what steel-related industries are, CSC has continued to hold the Steel Journey Activity. Approximately 1,400 graduating elementary school students from 13 different elementary schools in Siaogang visited CSC in six sessions on May 17 and May 18, 2018, respectively.

This year’s activity was both lively and fun. In addition to introducing how steel was made laboriously by people in the past, what the modern production processes of steel are, and what its applications are today, staff from the CSC Educational Foundation also designed elaborate Q&A sessions for the “Steel Elementary School” activity focusing on steel knowledge, circular economy, and environmental protection. Knowledge that was originally hard to grasp became interesting for the students who later had a deeper understanding of steel products, which resulted from CSC’s efforts to contribute to local education and fulfillment of its corporate social responsibility.
