The 2016 King of Wisdom Summer Camp Held by CSC

To enrich the summer vacation of the school children in Siaogang, CSC offered diversified learning activities for their physical and mental development. In collaboration with Ganghe Elementary School, CSC held the 2016 King of Wisdom Summer Camp between August 22 and August 26 in two sessions. 103 elementary school students from Siaogang participated in this activity.

The summer camp included a lot of diversified and interesting classes, such as astronomical classes (the star fair in summer), classes teaching formulas in one hour, art DIY classes, physical fitness classes, etc. “The Journey to Stars” introduced stars often seen in summer by using ancient historical legends and allowing the participants to actually observe the stars with telescopes. In the classes teaching formulas in one hour, students gained access to formula education by playing games with simple formula blocks so that their creativity was inspired, and their logical operation and self-learning abilities were also enhanced. In the art DIY classes, students were taught how to make collages by using paper-cut patterns and picture decorations on plant pots. In the physical fitness classes, students were taught the basic introductory course on billiards.

In addition, the CSC Educational Foundation especially conducted classes to promote environmental education, which included offshore wind power generation, convenient water-saving practices, power generation by exerting human power, power generation by bike riding, the “ Who holds the bullhorn? ” activity, etc. It was hoped that these specially designed and creative environmental protection teaching aids would make environmental education become more diversified and lively. With the combination of the “Industrial Safety Elementary School” activity, students were taught the importance of public safety by learning about electricity consumption at home and “little bees on industrial safety,” watching the 5S home cleaning video, and Q&A sessions with gifts.

General Manager I-Chung Huang from the Public Affairs Department emphasized that, for a long time, CSC has taken part in activities that promote local educational development vigorously in the hope that they will produce positive effects besides bringing a rich and meaningful vacation for children.
