The Steel Journey Activity Held by CSC

Children are the future masters of a nation, and a good educational environment is the foundation of social development. In order to let local students better understand CSC’s efforts in fulfilling its corporate social responsibility and promoting local educational levels, it has continued to hold the Steel Journey Activity, which was carried out with the assistance from Pingding Elementary School, the Retiree Service Department, and the CSC Educational Foundation this year. Approximately 1,500 graduating elementary school students from 13 different schools in Siaogang visited CSC in eight sessions on May 16 and May 19, 2016, respectively.

With the assistance of Principal Ji-an Huang from Pingding Elementary School, the activity was great and full of fun. At the outset, a film, which introduced how steel was made laboriously by ancient people, what the modern production processes of steel are, and what its applications are today, was played. Staff from the CSC Educational Foundation also designed elaborate Q&A games for the “ One-million-dollar Steel Elementary School” activity, which focused on energy conservation, reduction of carbon emissions, and environmental protection. This activity transformed hard steel knowledge into fun learning and enabled the students to gain deeper understanding of CSC with their own experiences.

On behalf of CSC, General Manager I-Chung Huang from the Public Affairs Department welcomed the graduating elementary school students in Siaogang to visit CSC; furthermore, he encouraged them to make contributions to Siaogang after they finished their schooling and become employees of CSC so that they could put in their diligent work in the steel industry to make them truly become people with a mind of steel.
