The Steel & Aluminum Research & Development Department, subordinated to the Technology Division of China Steel Corporation, is in charge of the R&D activities for steel and aluminum products and development of the iron and steel business and relevant technology.
The Steel & Aluminum Research & Development Department is comprised of six sections. The Steel Product Development Section is in charge of developing iron and steel new products and conducting corrosion research. The Steel Making Process Development Section is in charge of steelmaking process and inorganic analysis research. The Ironmaking Process Development Section is in charge of raw material and ironmaking process research. The Automation and Instrumentation System Development section is in charge of research on instrumentation technology and equipment monitoring and
diagnostic
systems. The Manufacturing Technology and Aluminum Product Section is in charge of research on rolling processes, welding and aluminum production and technology. The Operation Section is in charge of project management, maintenance and pilot plant operations.
Current manpower :A total of 148 employees: PhD : 30 persons, MS : 37 persons, BS : 15 persons, others : 64 persons
The Steel Product Development Section is in charge of developing iron and steel new products and conducting corrosion research.
